I hope everyone has enjoyed the new-look silent shroud. There isn’t any less poetry here, but it is surrounded by political and soccer videos, with occasional references to baseball and Russia, and so forth.
With the political stuff, I am not trying to convert anybody to my views (which I really need to elaborate on), but to include other people’s expressions of what I am thinking. It is part of the silent shroud ethos, of “hearts emerging from their silent shrouds.” And this is a free place of expression, so when you disagree with me you can leave comments that express your point of view. It is part of being an “effective artist,” to be able to express oneself, romantically and politically. Obviously, I am not a political artist, but I don’t live in a hole in a ground, and I care about what’s happening to this country.
The soccer videos are fun to watch, if you think soccer is fun to watch, if you don’t care for them, that’s fine. I don’t mind.
If you’re here for the poetry, please be patient as I am working on a few poems that should be published at the end of the month.
About the contest: yes, I’ve received all of your lists, but I won’t publish them until my winter term is up. You can’t rush art, and so paper doll Edge won’t be ready until then.
And for all two of you who have sent me lists: I would encourage you to double-check your lists (if you still have them. If not, ask me for them via e-mail.) and make sure that if you said a member of a band, please change it from the individual member to the name of the band.
Also, there is a whole part of music history that has been left out, so I would encourage y’all to brush up on your punk and proto-punk.
I hope you have a great day, with your choice of raging liberals and Russian poets.
